Obituary

Geraldine E. Klein, 'Jerry' age 86, of Shakopee, died on Saturday, November 24, 2012, at Friendship Manor Nursing Home in Shakopee.

She was born on March 10, 1926, in Shakopee, MN, the daughter of Peter and Hildegard (Menden) Fitz. Jerry married Urban A. Klein on September 3, 1947, in Shakopee. She worked for Northwestern Bell Telephone Company for many years, then worked for Shakopee Hardware for over 20 years. She also worked at St. Francis Hospital.

Jerry was a proud member of the Heritage Polka Singers, the VFW 4046 Ladies Auxiliary of Shakopee, 50 year member of the Shakopee Sewing Club, and she was a member of the Shakopee Heritage Society. Jerry also volunteered many hours to Church of St. Mark and St. Francis Regional Medical Center.

Jerry is preceded in death by her husband, Urban; brothers, Richard and Peter Fitz. Survivors include her sons, Terry (Jeanne), Dave (Kathi), Bill (Anne); grandchildren, Melissa, Jeff (Ashley), Josh, Tessa, Rachel, and Julie Klein, Jennifer (Tim) Groby, Kelly (Mike) Marr, Jenny (Jesse) Zettel; 7 great-grandchildren; best friend, Mary Schlink.

Services

Mass of Christian Burial Wednesday, November 28, 2012, 11:00 AM, at Church of St. Mark, 350 South Atwood Street, Shakopee, Minnesota. Presiding is Reverand Thomas Merrill, OFM Conv. Pallbearers are all her grandchildren. Private family interment will be held Thursday at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis.

Visitation Wednesday from 9-11 AM at Church of St. Mark.
